So it's been over a year in the new salon location, and it definitely feels like home! We are so excited to have 13 stylists currently working at XanderLyn Salon and we are still growing. It was not an easy year 2020 for anyone and XanderLyn was no exception. We decided to move at all possible times in January of 2020 and then all of sudden, the world fell apart. We were actually forced to close due to the state-enforced mandate for a good part of April. We ended up having the new location up and running the Tuesday after Memorial Day and we were excited for the task at hand, but were still unsure about the state of our country and where all of this was leading. I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of our customers and clients for being there and being supportive of us every step of the way! All of you are what brought stability and hope to our industry where businesses were closing around us left and right and we were not quite sure when the debacle would end. Thank you for being supportive with wearing masks and waiting a little extra longer sometimes for the start of an appointment when we wanted to make sure that everything was as disinfected as it could be to ensure the safety of you, your families and the sylists. We were all in this together and we consider every client to be a part of our family, or as we call it our "Xamily".
We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as summer begins to wane. We are still keeping up with our strict cleaning protocols, but now the masks are optional and we can move more freely around the salon. Remember, we are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so if at any point you want to try to book an appointment with your stylist when the salon might be a little less crowded, you can sometimes arrange a time with them earlier in the morning, later in the evening or on a less busy day. We make sure that all of our stylists can set their own hours because we realize they have important things outside of work including kids, husbands, and basically LIFE. This is one of the reasons I believe XanderLyn is set above some of the other salons because we firmly believe in the work-life balance.
You may have noticed all the different brands of hair products we carry at XanderLyn. You will also notice that our backbar (where you get your hair shampooed or treated) has many of the products you see on the shelves. Always feel free to ask your stylist about products that you might be curious about and they may be able to give you a try during your salon visit to see if is something that may benefit you in the salon or at home. Soon, we will be unveiling a brand new technology that actually will scan your hair and suggest what products may be useful or beneficial to your hair - but that is a subject for another blog post.
So, if you are a veteran client of ours, thank you SO MUCH for supporting us and your stylist through these trying times AND if you are new to XanderLyn Salon, WELCOME!! Know that the moment you walk through our door, you are like family to us and a part of our XAMILY.
